Twins migrating towards one another

When the twins go down, they go down next to each other, with a rolled up blanket separating them. But, they find their way towards one another. Both can roll from stomach to back. Both can somehow do 180 degree turns. Both can propel forwards a bit. Christine can go from back to stomach, and she can somehow maneuver towards things (or people) that (who) interest her.

That would explain how I found them in this predicament. Can't tell how they are just about on top of each other?

How about now? Christine definitely made her way towards Christian. Before I moved her back,  she was wedging him against the pillow next to him.

Christian did not seem to mind one bit. They seemed to get along just fine.

Seeing the world through different eyes

My darling got her first set of glasses. I am so excited for the times to come, where her eyes adjust and mature to see what she hasn't see in quite some time.

The midwife that delivered my twins

This morning, I went for an annual exam. I wish I could say that with a little spring and joy in my voice, but the truth is, I strongly dislike that sort of thing. I do it because I should. However, I did enjoy seeing the fabulous midwife, Mary Wilterdink, who delivered my twins into the world just over six months ago.

During the deliveries, Mary was always honest but never unkind. When I wasn't pushing hard enough during the delivery processes, she gently told me so. But that was followed with encouragement and suggestions for how to push.

Not only did Mary exude kindness how she acted towards me, she was always checking in to see whether my needs were being met - whether I was in labor, delivering, recovering from labor and delivery, nursing, or anything else. This is a woman who is interested in the well being of another, never focused just on birthing babies.

As if those qualities weren't enough, Mary has plenty of wisdom to offer. She seems to know plenty about what she does, current research, and so much. I was blessed and honored to have her as my midwife.

Getting married

They're princesses. They're Tinkerbell and her friends. They're fairies. They're butterflies. They're mother and daughter. They're getting married. I have trouble keeping up.

Introducing Dr. Isabella. That's what she is at the moment, anyways. Don't worry, she's a kind and gentle doctor.

SIX months!

My babies - my baby babies - the ones who are too young to be in school, are SIX MONTHS old today. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'm not sure where the time has gone. My precious twins, the youngest in the brood, are all grown up. All right, not all grown up. But, they aren't babies anymore.

They coo. They laugh. They giggle. They make eye contact.

She grabs what she sees. She passes things from one hand to another.

He recognizes his mommy by sight. He wants his mommy around all the time.

They know who their mommy is.

They will never be little babies again.
